Potter's House Books offers several thousand titles focusing primarily on spirituality and social justice.  The titles include a multi-faith mix of religious and spiritual traditions; spiritual classics; theology and biblical studies; healing and wholeness; social, racial and environmental justice and reconciliation; peace and conflict resolution; economics, globalization and sustainability issues; fiction and poetry; children's books, Spanish-language books; and more.

Our gift section features fair trade, handcrafted items from Ten Thousand Villages and other fair trade organizations that import products from Nepal, India, Mexico, and other countries.  To see samples, click on the "Fair Trade Gifts" tab under "Books & Gifts" on the main Potter's House homepage.  We also sell Palestinian olive oil, fair trade coffee, and greeting cards by local artists.

In addition to the Bookstore, the Potter's House is a restaurant/coffeehouse, art gallery, worship space, and community meeting place.  On Friday nights, it also is the venue for a concert series called "Sounds of Hope," which features mainly local musicians performing for the benefit of community nonprofit groups.

The Potter's House--which opened in 1960--is the first of several community outreach ministries founded by the ecumenical Church of the Saviour.  Located in the ethnically diverse Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, DC, the Potter's House strives to be a welcoming presence and community gathering place for whomever walks through the doors, regardless of background.
