Welcome to the Online Home of Potter's House Books

We are currently revamping our site and although it looks a bit different we are still providing the same excellent customer care you have come to trust. If you are a current customer your "old" login information should work just fine on our new site. If you are a first time visitor - enjoy!   If you experience any problems accessing or using this website, please contact us by phone or email:

Phone:  (202) 232-5483

Ordering any of the titles listed on the website can be done in five convenient ways:

  • Online through this website
  • By calling the Bookstore at (202) 232-5483
  • By faxing your order to (202) 232-5493
  • By mailing your order to 1658 Columbia Road, NW, Washington, DC 20009
  • And, of course, by visiting our store in person

We can ship 'in stock' titles immediately, and all other orders will be shipped as soon as we receive the titles from our distributors. Our online database is updated several times each week, and so the 'in stock' status of books also changes frequently.  If you do not find a certain title listed, please e-mail us with your request and we will attempt to order that title for you.  We will keep you posted via e-mail about the status of your order.

Our store hours are:

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday:  8 a.m. to 5 p.m
 Tuesday:  8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday:  8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Saturday:  10 a.m. to 6 p.m

Phone orders can be made at any time.  A staff person generally is available to answer calls between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time) Monday through Friday, and during additional hours that the store is open beyond those hours.  If, for any reason, your call is answered by our voice mail system, we will return your call within one business day.

Border Crossings  (Click Title to Order)

Border Crossings:  A Spiritual Journey in Medicine is the story of one woman's journey in science, faith and identity in the midst of the tumultuous currents of the twentieth century.

Harvard-trained physician and neuroscientist Ann Barnet describes her boundary-breaking journey from brain research to serving immigrant children and families.  She invites the reader into the life of The Family Place, the refugee center she founded in Washington, DC, and she illuminates the lives of real people caught in violence and war yet driven by fierce hope.

Border Crossings is a timeless affirmation of the power of faith, community and family.
